We at Made In The Hills are a young "2021" ethical British company based in the beautiful flow country of Caithness deep in the Scottish Highlands. We are passionate about our planet and our wild diverse landscape, therefore strive to be as Eco-Friendly, sustainable and transparent as we can be without compromising on quality.

I have always had an affinity with animals and nature “and Scotland” and had visited the area on holiday for many years, taking off with my lab Luca and  seeking a peaceful retreat from our busy world, who knew that I would meet my now husband and make the brave decision, I’d go so far as to say a little scary to  move my entire life from the North of England to probably one of the most remote, sparsely populated parts of the far North of Scotland, the very beautiful, wild, flow country of Caithness.

With only red deer, golden eagles and our 5 dogs keeping us company, as much as I embraced the wild and remote lifestyle I needed something to occupy me, id always loved candles and crafts, having spent a small fortune on them over the years it became obvious to me to combine my love of the Scottish Highlands, animals and candles and handcraft a range of scented candles, home fragrance and unique gifts for dog lovers. Our lifestyle here is off grid and we rely on renewable solar powered electricity and our running water is from the river, so it went without saying the products we make are sustainable and Eco-friendly.

Our candles and wax melts are handcrafted using natural rapeseed and coconut or soy wax and scented with luxury fragrance oils and are small batch hand poured and connected to nature, all being vegan friendly, paraben free and of course never tested on beautiful animals!

Our packaging reflects the ethics we strive to adhere to, being sustainable  it's extremely important to us, the glass jars/bottles we use are re-cyclable and can be repurposed. Our packaging boxes are compostable, and we use natural wood wool, "that is beautiful as well as good for the environment" for protection. Our carbon footprint is as small as we can make it
